The Red Image has been in the photography industry since 1999. Our initial success started when offering a wide range of photo editing services, trading under the name of Picturesque. We expanded our services into a photography studio in 2003. We were a new business, with new ideas. Our aim was to revolutionize the way people think about modern portraiture. At that time there were many rivals in the photography industry but Picturesque offered an outstanding service with an excellent range of products.

At the end of 2005 our studio was selling a large number of canvas portraits, however we knew that if we made this product available to a much larger audience we could do extremely well. We decided market canvases in a totally new way. We opened a retail merchandising unit in the White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds offering a 1 hour, on site, canvas printing service. Being the first company in the UK to offer this kind of service helped us to become successful very quickly. Just 3 months after setting up our first unit we set up our second in The Metro Centre in Gateshead.
